Charleston, West Virginia (May 20, 2026) – City National Bank and City Holding Company are pleased to announce the promotion of longtime retail banking leader Tim Quinlan to President of City National Bank.
Quinlan joined City in 2001 after 10 years at Truist (formerly BB&T). He has served in various roles throughout his career, most recently as Executive Vice President of Retail Banking.
In this expanded role, Quinlan continues to lead City’s branches, mortgage sales, cash management, and retail administration departments. He now also oversees City’s information technology, operations, human resources, marketing, digital channels and wealth management groups.
Skip Hageboeck continues to serve as CEO of City National Bank, as well as President and CEO of City Holding Company.
“City’s standing as a top-tier community bank with industry-leading service is a direct reflection of Tim’s outstanding leadership,” said Hageboeck. “His professional journey – beginning as a bank management trainee and rising to an executive leader – gives him a first-hand, ground-up understanding of banking that makes him uniquely qualified for this pivotal role.”
Quinlan is a graduate of St. Albans High School and West Virginia University, and he currently lives in his hometown with his wife, Cheryl. They have two children, Michael and Alyssa, who are both WVU graduates.
An active member of his community, Quinlan currently serves as Investment Chair for the CAMC Foundation, and as a member of the Board of Directors for both the United Way of Central West Virginia and the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra.
