If you receive a text message about an unpaid toll charge, please be aware that this is a popular scam. Fraudsters will provide a link to pay an alleged outstanding toll charge, which will prompt you to provide sensitive information. This typically leads individuals to provide their debit card information, which the fraudster later uses to make purchases.
As a general reminder, you should never click a link in an unsolicited text message. And you should never share sensitive account credentials, security codes, or similar data with anyone. Reputable organizations will never ask you to pay a toll by text message.
Be mindful of any communication you receive via text, email, and postal mail, as scammers frequently use fake messages to take advantage of unsuspecting individuals.
If you received an unsolicited text about a toll charge and clicked a link or provided sensitive information, please contact your local branch or call our Customer Care Center at 888-816-8064 for assistance.
