We want to make you aware of a scam targeting City customers.
Fraudsters are posing as City employees, calling customers about so-called “suspicious” debit card transactions. These calls often appear to come from local phone numbers, including those with a 304 area code.
How to protect yourself:
· Never share debit card or account information.
· Never give out your login credentials or one-time security codes.
· Never click links in texts or emails to access your account—go directly to our website or mobile app.
The best defense against fraud is staying alert and safeguarding your information. As a general reminder—reputable organizations will never ask you to provide sensitive information by phone, text, or email.
If you receive one of these calls or any message that seems suspicious, end the conversation immediately and contact your local branch or our Customer Care Center at 888-816-8064.
